Automatic Shielding Factor Analysis

We’re excited to announce a game-changing feature in Shapemaker: Automatic Shielding Factor Analysis. For each wind direction, the feature evaluates how a discrete ancillary is shielded by nearby discrete ancillaries, delivering more precise results with less manual effort.

Until now, Shapemaker has relied on manual shielding, where users input a single shielding factor per ancillary that applies uniformly across all wind directions. While manual shielding remains available for those who prefer it, the new automatic option offers greater flexibility and saves time by handling the calculations for you.

How to Use It
You can enable Automatic Shielding Factor Analysis on a per-structure basis. Here’s how:

1. Navigate to the 'Ancillaries' tab in your structure.

2. Use the toggle at the top of the page to enable the Automatic Shielding Factor Analysis. Don’t worry—your manually inputted values will still be stored, allowing you to switch back anytime if needed.

3. Once the analysis is run, review the calculated shielding factors for each ancillary and wind direction in the ‘Ancillaries’ chapter of the full report.
