TowerBuilder is a powerful new feature in Shapemaker that allows users to input their own tower families directly into the system—more quickly and with less effort than in any other software. It revolutionizes the way engineers work with Shapemaker, giving them more control over their data and the flexibility to onboard lattice towers according to their specific needs. It allows users to create and analyze a tower even when, for example, detailed connection data is missing—they can simply add or update this information later as it becomes available.
Shapemaker is a Software as a Service (SaaS) that automates structural analyses of telecom sites—from calculating site-specific conditions and running structural analyses of different tower types, to generating a report with the necessary information to sign off a project.
To reduce onboarding efforts and enable reuse of onboarded designs, we use a concept of ‘tower families’, collections of modular tower sections that can be mixed and matched to create different tower designs. Therefore, whenever a user creates a new structure, they select from these preconfigured families—making it possible to set up a site in minutes and immediately begin adding project-specific details like ancillaries or foundation details.
To provide accurate analysis results, we require detailed information regarding the tower geometry, from dimensions and materials to connection details and cross sections, as usually represented in technical drawings. TowerBuilder provides a comprehensive overview of your data and lets you onboard new tower families at your own pace. It also opens the door for improving your data over time—eliminating the need to have everything ready from the start.
Furthermore, TowerBuilder does not just give you full control over your tower families, it also provides a user-friendly way of inputting all the necessary details.
